Wi-fi emergency & Panera Bread

Madly typing away on her laptop
The other day, I took Rome to his second trip to Panera Bread. Normally, I prefer fresh breads from local bakery and pastry shops, but I had a bit of an "emergency" on Tuesday.

Construction workers somehow got into a cable line in the neighborhood, and they knocked out our cable TV and internet, which made the normally viral residents useless and agitated.

I also needed to get some info on my assignment in one of my classes, and I couldn't wait the 4 hours it'd take for the cable company to get the service up and running again. So, I packed Rome up in the car and headed towards Panera Bread---a national (overpriced) bakery chain.

Rome actually did pretty well in Panera Bread; he didn't run around, bother the patrons, and he didn't touch anything that he wasn't supposed to, so mommy was absolutely quite pleased with him. He ate a whole bowl of their macaroni & cheese, some of my tuna salad sandwich, and a bite or two of his peanut butter & jelly bread. I guess he wasn't into the PB&J too much, because he actually spit out the third bite onto my laptop.

There's nothing like having a half-chewed wad of bread on your keyboard. Hey, at least it wasn't the screen.

A young, twenty-something year old blonde walked right by our table, saw Rome spitting out the bread, and said he was just adorable. Huh? When did spitting out food become cute? I guess it only works if you're two. I swear, my kid is pimp---he gets all the chicks wherever he goes. It makes his uncles jealous.

Anyway, Panera's great: they have free wi-fi, and I can keep Rome amused with a plastic straw and a slice of lemon. Don't ask, but it works.

I've never visited a Panera Bread location! You introduced something entirely new to me ;-) And, I think no matter what Rome's doing, he's going to get little compliments. He's a cutie! Have a great weekend :-)

Kids are always adorable :) My daughter shares her bread that she spit out with me :)

Dutch---trust me, coming from Europe, you're not missing anything in Panera. It's fresh, yes, but it doesn't have that home-baked taste like the bakeries in Germany. Oh, how I miss them! LOL. ;)

jellybelly---LOL. Yeah, you're right. They're absolutely darling even with snot running down their face. :)

Rome is a cutie... I didnt know panera had free wifi... Thanks girlie!!! Isnt there tuna soooooo good? hugs

haha i agree with the lady, rome's cute indeed. never mind the spitting part. was that you in the photo? did you have rome take your picture? hope all's well with your classes.. you're back to being super bchai again.

natalee---free wi-fi + a killer mac n' cheese. It's a good combo. LOL.

Meretrisha---LOL, no, that's not me. Our Panera Bread area is just loaded with young college students hooked on their laptops, and she just happened to be the closest one sitting near us. I love candid shots, when I can take them. ;) Classes are great, but I wish Rome was old enough to write papers for me. LOL!

Haha, I loved that! I haven't taken Logan to Panera yet, I loved that place when I was pregnant but haven't gone too much since because I agree with you on the prices and comparison to bakeries. That's great that Rome did well there (and that you got your assignment done despite him spitting out his food on your computer)!
