| ...and, yes, it is as bad as it looks |
All that happened...and more, unfortunately.
I don't know what it is, but it seems like if anything wrong could happen on a brief weekend getaway, it will find a way to happen. In our case, it struck J in the worse way, but I have to say it was his fault for the most part. The picture is a PG-13 version (or G-rated) of the extent of his injuries, but I didn't even get a shot of the rough parts since I was administering some first aid to him WHILE yelling at him. My brother, BJ, was snickering beside me taking shots of his accident on his cell phone (which you see on the left), my mom was throwing towels at J to stanch the bleeding, and my dad was literally on the floor rolling with laughter.
Anyway, to sum it up this is what happened to J (in chronological order):
- Had a BBQ at his parent's place for lunch.
- Went back to my folk's place to chill out.
- Decided to go on a run around the neighborhood after the sun had gone down (around 8pm).
- Was chased by a gaggle of antagonized Canadian geese.
- Tripped on the crack in the sidewalk, and fell into the road.
...ugh. Talk about a rough weekend for him.
Despite J's mishap over the Labor Day weekend, Rome and I enjoyed our time with family. It's nice to kick back and hang out with family, which is why we went home. I'll elaborate more a bit later. It's time to tend to the I'm-off-work-for-another-day-because-of-my-accident husband.

Ouch!!!!! I hope he gets better soon!
Must have been really painful. Number 4 made me giggle though. Sorry J!
Dutch---LOL. He will. He's on crutches and a splint right now.
Nina---He kicked (at) one of the geese, and they kinda got mad at him. He knows the geese around my parent's neighborhood are vicious, but he never listens. LMAO.
Yikes, that looks painful! I hope he has healed now.
Andrea...it would've, but he's been running around on his bad ankle ALL weekend. Without crutches. *rolls eyes* Men never listen.
oh! learned about it just today.. do these geese belong to someone in the neighborhood? hmmm.. they should not have let these geese run around. hope J is getting better
